When you get behind the wheel, the only thing that you should be focusing on is your driving.  Remove items that may distract you away from the driving area. If your briefcase, cell phone, daily planner or laptop are within reach, you will be tempted to use them.

Buckle Up We all know that seat belts save lives and that we need to wear them, but don’t stop there. Make sure that all passengers buckle up. Anything that is loose in a car, including a passenger, will become a flying projectile that may cause serious injury.

Lock Your Doors As soon as you enter your vehicle, lock the doors. A door that is locked is far less likely to open during a crash. The safest place for you during a crash is in your car.
